Raven swoops into Davis Cup

EASTERN Cape-born tennis star Raven Klaasen will be aiming to use his new- found status as a doubles expert to good effect when South Africa clash with Lithuania in a key Davis Cup tie in Pretoria next month.

The 31-year-old Klaasen, who was born in King William's Town but moved to Cape Town at a young age, is one of captain John-Laffnie de Jager's key components as they attempt to move up the Davis Cup ladder.

South Africa are stuck in Group 2 in the Africa-Euro zone and need two more wins to have a chance of returning to Group 1 -
