MTN apologises for connection issues

MTN said yesterday afternoon that its customers were being affected by intermittent connection issues.

The downtime was affecting about one million voice‚ SMS and data customers in the country‚ according to the BusinessTech.co.za website.

Without providing any reasons‚ MTN South Africa said on its Twitter account: “We are currently experiencing intermittent connection issues affecting some customers.

“Our engineers are working on resolving this asap.”

The MTN SA Service account stated: “Apologies for the lapse in service some of our towers are being upgraded our technical guys are working on restoring” (sic).

MTN customers complained on social media that they had been experiencing service problems since Sunday.
