Time to nominate Bay businesswomen for awards

NELSON Mandela Bay businesswomen making notable strides in their careers have exactly a month from today to get nominated for the regional Businesswomen’s Association’s (BWA) Business Achiever Awards.

The awards, which boast a list of illustrious women business leaders as previous winners, celebrate the achievements of women entrepreneurs and professionals in the private and government spheres.

Entrants must be nominated, with nominations accepted from the Bay and surrounding areas, and need not be BWA members.

BWA Port Elizabeth branch chairwoman Michelle Brown said: “Every year we discover women of high calibre who do amazing work in their working lives and in the community.

“These awards are a wonderful opportunity to give recognition to women who have built up successful careers and businesses, often against the odds, and who play a significant role in empowering others to follow in their footsteps and as role models for the next generation.”

There are six award categories, including emerging and social entrepreneur, corporate, professional, and government.

The winners, to be selected out of three finalists in each category, will be announced at a gala dinner at the Boardwalk Convention Centre on June 14.
