Veteran Gutsche to share tips for survival in business

CHANGING the course of his business strategy in tough economic times was key to Bay veteran businessman Phil Gutsche’s success.

The Coca-Cola Sabco chairman will be one of the keynote speakers at the Nelson Mandela Bay Investor Seminar planned for June, and titled “Weathering the storm. Getting your business through tough economic times”.

At yesterday’s media launch of the event, Gutsche said proper planning was essential in business, but a good business leader also had to know when to change the course of the business strategy in tougher times.

“You need to assess your way of doing business and adapt. There is no room for becoming a dinosaur.

“The Round Table’s motto of adapt, adopt and improve speaks about being flexible in business. It gets tough when the business gets bigger.”

Gutsche said it was important to work towards a goal and to start with a vision: the end result of what you want to achieve.
