New Merc training academy going world class
TRAINING for the consolidation and future of the motor industry in the Eastern Cape received a R130-million boost yesterday with the announcement of a new specialised academy.
The news was broken at the announcement of the 2014 financial results for Mercedes-Benz SA.
Its chief executive and manufacturing executive director, Arno van der Merwe, said in Centurion that the MBSA Learning Academy, co-funded by the government-backed Jobs Fund, was exciting news not only for the company but for the broader automotive industry in the region.
He said the industry would benefit from the utilisation of top international technology and equipment at the training centre.
