Construction of processing facility at Coega to start in March.
Construction on an R86million agro-processing facility at Coega is expected to start in March. Announcing the development yesterday, the Coega Development Corporation (CDC) said the facility would be set up to cater for small and big companies involved in agro-processing.
They will share infrastructure under one roof at a site located in the Coega industrial development zone (IDZ).
Eastern Cape Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism Department spokesman Sixolile Makaula said it would be the first facility of its kind in the province.
The CDC is already home to several operational agro-processing ventures and food packaging, storage and logistics companies such as Coega Dairy, Famous Brands, PE Cold Storage, Vector Logistics, Digistics, ID Logistics and Dynamic Commodities.
