Vehicle sales report delayed

IN an unusual move yesterday, the monthly vehicle sales report was delayed because an Eastern Cape vehicle manufacturer's statistics had not been received.

The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA (Naamsa), which releases the stats on the first working day of the month, said it decided to delay the publication of the November data until Mercedes-Benz SA's figures were received.

Naamsa said MBSA had advised that it would in future only disclose aggregated new vehicle sales data to the Department of Trade and Industry for publication via the department's website.
