Bay law firm expansion success

ONE of the oldest legal firms in Nelson Mandela Bay has expanded to Johannesburg.

Greyvensteins Inc, a legal firm started in 1960 in Port Elizabeth, has been offering conveyancing and property- related legal services to clients at their Johannesburg office for the past three months.

The company, which employs more than 80 people in total, has branched out, with seven employees in its Gauteng office. Greyvensteins Inc managing director Emile Greyvenstein said the Johannesburg office at Fourways had been doing really well so far.

"We expanded to grow the business and to service our clients in Gauteng. We are still establishing the branch but so far it is doing great," he said.

Greyvensteins Inc is on the panel of all of the major banks in the country, and also opened a Cape Town office more than 18 years ago to assist with especially the conveyancing part of the legal business.

Associate Arno van Deventer, who has practised at Greyvensteins Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, heads up the Johannesburg office.

"My own secretary, Deleen Venter, has worked for the company for more than 40 years.

"Our staff stay for many years and in all the years we have never retrenched one person at the firm," Greyvenstein said. - Cindy Preller
