Repo rate unchanged

The repo rate will remain unchanged at 5.5 percent, the SA Reserve Bank's monetary policy committee decided on Thursday (22/05/2014).
Inflation is currently at "uncomfortable levels", SARB governor Gill Marcus said in Pretoria, announcing the decision of the monetary policy committee (MPC).
In January, the committee increased the repo rate by 50 basis points to 5.5 percent and in March the repo rate remained unchanged. - Sapa
