BRAND agency Boomtown has bagged a marketing big fish, Uyanda Manana, to head its business unit.
Manana brings with her a wealth of international experience in, among other areas, the telecommunications and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.
“Boomtown is an agency to watch, and it’s an exciting time to be involved in a fast-moving, creative team,” she said.
Manana holds a diploma in Integrated Marketing Communications from the AAA School of Advertising and has worked as a product manager at L’Oreal and account manager at Publicis in the UK.
She returned to South Africa three years ago and took up the position of group business unit director at an agency managing MTN. Boomtown managing director Wayne Harrison said Manana would help advance the agency in its quest for groundbreaking brand communication.
“Having worked as the business unit director for MTN’s advertising agency, and in UK agency Publicis on FMCG brands, as well as in the UAE, Uyanda’s diverse experience will help us to keep pushing the boundaries of unique and engaging brand communication.”
